NYC STREET FOOD FINDER

Empowering Local Vendors Through Real-Time Visibility

STREET FOOD APP
REAL TIME MAP - UI
VENDOR MARKETPLACE
API INTEGRATION

OVERVIEW

A location-based web app that helps users discover nearby street food vendors in real time. Inspired by New York City’s vibrant street food culture, the platform connects users with food trucks and carts while helping independent vendors reach more customers. Users can explore nearby vendors on a map, filter by cuisine (tacos, coffee, desserts, etc.), and see what’s open or active.
Vendors can share live updates and share broadcasts about their location, menu, and availability.

IMPACT

This app would make street food more accessible and convenient for customers by helping them quickly discover nearby vendors in real time. It would also support small food businesses by increasing their visibility, attracting more customers, and enabling direct communication through live updates and broadcasts. Overall, the platform would strengthen local street food culture, boost small vendor income, and create a more connected food community.

CHALLENGE

People often struggle to find nearby food trucks because their locations change frequently and they sell out quickly.
Existing platforma like GrubHub and Yelp focus mainly on reviews, but there is no reliable real-time platform to track accessible street food vendors in NYC.
GOAL

Create a real-time platform that allows food truck vendors to send live broadcasts and location updates so users can easily discover nearby street food vendors in NYC.

SOLUTION

FEATURE 1
Allow vendors to instantly send real-time updates to customers about: daily specials, selling out delayed, openings, temporary closures, and new arrivals.

Broadcasts appear live in the customer feed with status badges and optional push notifications.
